Established in 2018, the germ-free mouse unit, part of the Centre for Disease Modeling, provides germ-free and gnotobiotic mouse services to the UBC community. The unit offers the research community access to isolators for utilizing germ-free and gnotobiotic mice during ACC-approved experimental procedures. To further meet the needs of investigators, the germ-free unit provides technical support required for various experimental procedures. The staff also perform research and training in gnotobiotic technology and methods.
